Ex-Israeli envoy offers condolences to Azerbaijan over death of civilians in mine blast  

The death of two Azerbaijani journalists and an official as a result of a mine explosion in Kalbajar district is terrible news, the former Israeli ambassador to Baku, Arthur Lenk tweeted on Saturday.

He offered his condolences to Azerbaijan and the families of the victims.

“Many countries, including Israel, need to be much better at sharing maps after conflicts to remove deadly mines,” Lenk noted.

On the morning of June 4, 2021, a vehicle carrying members of the film crew hit an anti-tank mine on the road in Susuzlug village of Kalbajar region. As a result of the explosion, two members of the film crew, cameraman of Azerbaijan Television Siraj Abishov and correspondent of the Azerbaijan State News Agency Maharram Ibrahimov, as well as representative of the district executive power Arif Aliyev were killed and four people were injured.
